Find Your Perfect TRAINER at LPDT

Our Mission:

To help overwhelmed dog owners train their pups to be competent emotional support and therapy companions to their families or selves through in-home studio, 1-on-1 enrichment and socialization interaction.

Lynn specializes in training the “working” dogs as well as the “in-home” dogs.

Our Vision:

Lynn Parson Dog Training is THE leading organization on the central coast for equipping dogs with excellent house, public, and people skills.

Our Values:

  1. Safety is not overrated - our #1 priority for our dogs, workers, and clients is safety. This is a non-negotiable value that we pride ourselves in and are consistently seeking to excel in.
  2. Quality over quantity -  unlike traditional boarding kennels, we care deeply about impacting each dog that stays with us through in-home studio, 1-on-1 interaction.
  3. We celebrate diversity- we are not afraid to welcome each type of dog, both pure-bred and mixed, puppy and senior, into our program as well as each unique dog owner. We are also an inclusive team that seeks to encourage, respect, and support each other like a family.

What People Are Saying

“

Everyone needs a ‘Lynn’ in their life. She’s an excellent communicator and met me where I was at with my dog.  With my first puppy, I had no idea where to start. Without judgement, she helped potty train and build a daily structure for my dog (basset hound) to develop kind, playful, and gentle behaviors.

— Josh

I have never hesitated to bring my dog to her house. She has a very secure yard, safe house, and an honest, loyal, genuine personality. I would highly, highly recommend Lynn Parson if you need a safe place for your pet to stay for the day or for an extended period of time

— Linda

Lynn and her staff are so loving and caring with the dogs.  We love the home environment instead of a usual kennel.  Our golden loved staying with Lynn and would come home happy and exhausted.  I love that Lynn sends videos of the dogs playing together.  It’s great having a place where you know your dog is happy and well cared for.  As an added bonus, Lynn is also a dog trainer – so you can schedule training time while your dog is being boarded!  Highly recommend!!!

— Margie

Lynn gave Charlie a safe place to socialize with other dogs and get lots of energy out. I was able to spend my day at work without worrying about my dog

— Bethany

What makes “Lodging” different?

Lodge & Learn

Does your dog struggle with any of these?

  • Potty training
  • House manners
  • Leash pulling
  • Excessive barking, digging, jumping
  • Resource guarding
  • Refusing crate training
  • Desensitization

Then our Lodge & Learn program may be the right fit for you.

What is “Lodge & Learn”?

We understand owning a dog can be hard and not everyone has the time to put in the necessary training.

Unfortunately, many owners are actually owned by their dog, instead of getting to enjoy a beautiful relationship together.

Our “Lodge & Learn” program is designed to help you take your dog from “tyranny” to “tranquility” through in-home, 1-on-1 training from our Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Lynn Parson.

What is addressed at Doggie Camp?

Thank you for your interest in dog training through Doggie Do Good. Attached are the documents required for Doggie Camp enrollment, including a "What to expect" informational document that thoroughly outlines what to expect during the camp program.

The Doggie Camp is a customized course where your dog stays at our facility and we do all of the groundwork training for you. We teach basic obedience: SIT, COME, STAY, DOWN and HEEL. And then we focus on any specialty behaviors you might be having issues with, whether it's separation anxiety, barking, nipping, jumping, boundary training, or a combination of several things. You get to customize a wishlist of exactly what you'd like us to address.

Each dog gets 6-8 hours of training per day. We focus on distraction training, which helps the dogs understand that regardless of their environment they still must listen. For example, we put the dogs in "down/stay", where they have to lay down and stay down. Then we have a couple other dogs run around them. We throw toys around and run with the "distraction dogs" to ensure the dogs in the “down/stay” learn they have to stay until given their release word - no matter what's going on around them! After all, it’s when your dog is most distracted that you really need the training to work. At the end of the Camp we have you come out and we do a 4-6 hour-long return where we show you all your dog has learned and then we teach you how to train and maintain what he/she has learned. Lastly, we have you work your dog yourself while a trainer is watching. That way, we can re-establish you as the Alpha, make sure your technique matches what he/she already recognizes, and make sure you are comfortable with correcting and praising.

Included with camp is our training guarantee, which means you have access to free unlimited one-hour private lessons for the rest of your dog's life.  You also have unlimited access to our trainers over the phone and through email. However, the majority of our clients never need to utilize their guarantee if they follow our instructions. Most dogs complete 21 days of Doggie Camp, however those with many or difficult behaviors may need more time.

Am I updated on my dog's progress?

Absolutely! We email you a weekly grade report for the first two weeks of camp, and then schedule a phone call with you to give you your final update and schedule the graduation/transfer process. Please note, we may recommend more time during this update if we feel it would be beneficial for your dog (See "What to Expect" PDF)PricingOur Doggie Camp is approximately $140/day. That would be $2940 for the 21 day stay and a lifetime training guarantee! Any applicable potty (@$25-50/day) and/or aggression (@$25/day) training fees are NOT included in that rate and would be billed at additional cost. While the camp program is continuous, we typically schedule intakes for Mondays and Saturdays. If this does not work with your schedule, we will accommodate for any day that works best for you.* You will receive a 20% discount off of the base rate of Doggie Camp. That would be $112/day, $2352 for the 21 day stay and a lifetime training guarantee, a $588+ savings!ESTIMATE = $2352($1176 due at drop off, remaining balance collected at time of pick up)  We accept payment in forms of cash, check, venmo (@doggiedogood) and credit card. An additional 2% processing fee applies for all card transactions.

Intake Process

The Doggie Camp intake process typically lasts between 20-40 minutes. During this process, you would meet with a senior staff member to customize your doggie's behaviors. If possible, we ask that you please scan and email, or fax, your completed paperwork over ahead of time for a streamlined intake. It is not a problem if you are unable to send the paperwork in advance, we will accommodate.

Graduation Process

The Doggie Camp transfer process typically lasts 4-6 hours on the last day of camp. This is where we work with you to ensure that you have all of the information and tools necessary to maintain and improve upon the foundation of behaviors that your doggie will have learned.  Dog training is a lifelong endeavor! Our training facility is located at 335 Summit Station Road in Arroyo Grande, CA 93420.

How to sign up

Doggie Camp is continuous, meaning a dog can jump in anytime, we just need a few day's notice. If you'd like to reserve a date to start, just email or give us a call to set a date that is convenient for you.

What is required

Along with the attached documents completed, we ask that the owner(s) provide enough food for the stay (an extra week's worth just in case, labeled with feeding instructions), proof of current and completed Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella vaccinations, any flea control/medications with directions to be administered and at least half down in payment upon drop off. We can administer a one-time application of flea control for $25 if needed.  Each dog must wait at least 10 days after being given the Bordetella vaccination to enter the pack, so please plan accordingly.  We charge a $5/day fee for administration of medication and a $5/day fee for any complex or specialized feeding other than kibble/canned food. Please contact our office at 805.473.1701 or reply to this email regarding further questions, scheduling and when you arrive. Our trainer will meet you outside to avoid interrupting any training sessions. For safety reasons, we ask that you keep your dog secured inside your vehicle until our senior staff member arrives to give instructions and to review paperwork. Intake appointments and transfers are conducted outdoors; make sure to dress accordingly and allow enough time in your schedule.
